Overview: Administrators are spending more and more time managing projects. You may be required to implement a new office system, organise an event or work as part of a larger project team.
This interactive course focuses on what you need to know about the theory and practice of managing projects and is aimed at the beginner-intermediate level.
Who Should Attend: This course is uniquely designed for administrators who are managing or administrating projects, but it is also suitable for anyone who wants an introduction to project management theory and practice.
Course Objectives: -Understand project management theory and the stages of projects -Practice planning and implementing a project.
Course Outline: -Identifying the five stages of a project -Defining what is a project -Identify the types of stakeholders -Recognising the role and responsibilities of the Project Manager and team members -Developing robust terms of reference -Understanding the importance of and preparation of a risk management analysis -Planning and organising the project -Sound budget management -Understanding, involving, supporting and praising people -Working together as a team - effective problem solving techniques and well run meetings -Successfully managing multiple projects
Course Format: This is an interactive workshop with participants working in groups and relevant projects. Participants receive a workbook, project templates and exercise sheets. There is maximum of 16 participants on each course.
