Leadership and followership is an integral part of life for social animals. Chimps get the top job through a combination of display and of coalitions. How long he (always a ‘he’ in the chimp world) keeps the top job depends on how he treats his followers because followers do indeed have power and influence (just look at what has happened in Libya).
So for humans, effective leaders use power constructively and successful organisations have systems to contain and deal with inappropriate displays of power.
In this practical and memorable session we will cover:
* The 9 instincts that come with being born human * The role of power for social animals * The influence of followers * Organisational responses to abuses of power * Personal responses if our boss abuses their power
