Communicating and relating well to a variety of people is an essential management skill. We all need to develop greater understanding of communication techniques and how they can be used for the best results.
Interpersonal Communication Skills enables people to become more effective communicators, listen with greater purpose and speak with improved clarity. By developing our understanding of communication strategies and enhancing our communication skills we can enhance our personal effectiveness and build rewarding business relationships.
On successful completion of this programme, it is expected that you will have the tools to be able to: •Develop effective listening skills in order to build rapport •Use questioning techniques to explore issues and enhance understanding •Read and respond to non-verbal language to interpret intentions with greater accuracy •Build genuine and open interactions that cut across game-playing and power plays •Choose appropriate communication strategies to match various contexts •Deliver messages with clarity across a range of channels including face-to- face, telephone, and email •Resolve differences and minimise conflict through intervening early and communicating confidently •Negotiate win-win outcomes by using communication skills with competence and confidence.
